Bitcoin has no fixed exchange rate like a national currency. Its price is set on crypto exchanges around the clock, including weekends, and can move several percent within a day. The calculator uses the current price from Yahoo Finance; the chart below shows the price history on the Bitstamp exchange.

When you buy through an app or exchange, fees and a price markup are added, so compare the offered price with the rate above. And the most important rule from the book applies here too: emergency fund and expensive debt first, then volatile investments, and only with money you will not need for a long time.
